Would you like to wake every morning excited about
going to work?
The Perimeter Transportation Coalition is looking
for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to fill
our position of Outreach Coordinator. Read
about the position below, and if this sounds like the
job for you (or someone you know), apply via email with
a resume and professional cover letter (explaining why
you want this job and why you would be a good fit). Applications
should be directed to David
Southerland, Executive Director.
IMPORTANT: The email subject heading
should be some variation of ‘PTC Outreach position.'
Applicants should include both the cover letter and
resume in a single attacheddocument, either in Microsoft
Word or RTF format. Do not paste your cover letter
or resume into the body of your email. Do not send
multiple attachments. No faxes or hard copy applications,
please.
Also,
please apply for this position only if you are seriously
interested in this job, and not just any job. The PTC will evaluate your interest
partly on whether you have written a unique cover letter
that makes it clear that you wrote the letter for this
position; stock cover letters that don’t make
the case for why you and this job are a good match
will almost certainly be discounted.
BACKGROUND
The Perimeter Transportation Coalition (PTC) is a business-funded

bicycling, alternative work arrangements, and more. Specific
outreach programs include a discounted transit pass program,
emergency guaranteed ride home program, computer ridematching
and vanpool formation assistance. The PTC works in close
partnership with the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts,
and cooperatively with the Clean Air Campaign, MyRideFind.com,
the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, MARTA and
Cobb Community Transit, the City of Sandy Springs and DeKalb
County, and the Georgia Department of Transportation. Please
explore this website to learn more about what we do.

Description: This job requires a unique
blend of skills and aptitudes, including a social, open
personality style that enjoys sales and customer service,
and some competent skills in managing systems and handling
the detail-oriented administration that supports our outreach
and marketing activities. Hint: Do you
keep your checkbook balanced every month AND look forward
to talking to the tellers at your bank?
This position's primary objectives are to:
- Work

of local and regional incentives is managed through a
proprietary software, and this position holds the responsibility
of managing the delivery and administration of these
incentives for commuters.

element of the work at the PTC is the monthly e-Newsletter,
done through the Exact Target software.
- Collateral
and Incentive Management: The
OC has primary responsibility for various incentives,
local promotional literature, and collateral elements – maintaining
inventory, ordering new items, and working with appropriate
partners in designing new collateral items..
- Special Outreach and Promotion: The OC will
coordinate or assist in the design and implementation
of special outreach events and campaigns as appropriate.
EDUCATION
Graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably

at executing administrative tasks
- Comfort and enjoyment in face-to-face promotional activities
- Self-starter with ability to self-direct and prioritize
work activities, and manage multiple projects
- Enjoys working in a team; persistent, outgoing, organized,
flexible, and can think well on their feet
- Demonstrated interest and leadership in extra-work

experience
- Full
benefits package (including medical, 401K match, and
other optional benefits – available
after 30 days of employment)
- Flex-time and occasional telework, negotiable
- Free monthly MARTA pass
Candidates must also be willing to demonstrate a commitment
to our work by utilizing alternative transportation in
their own everyday activities or living close to work.
This doesn't necessarily mean riding a bike to work everyday,
but rather a willingness to use alternatives as often
as possible. Our clients often challenge us on our own
commuting patterns; therefore a progressive response
can be very useful. If you live far away from the Perimeter,
please be prepared to discuss why this wouldn't be an
obstacle to performing well at your job. Also, living
near the Perimeter or along a MARTA route is a definite
bonus.
Also, please note that as a nonprofit with limited funding,
the PTC will be unable to assist out-of town applicants with
travel expenses for any invitation to interview, or with
moving expenses should that applicant be offered a position
with the PTC. However, if you are planning on being in Atlanta
and your qualifications meet the job requirements, we will
be interested in meeting with you.
To apply, please send an email to David
Southerland with one attachment containing both your cover letter and resume.
Please be sure that the document is in either Microsoft Word or a universal rich
text format (.rtf).
